The Pulaski & Broad Project: A Corner for the city

Though Jesus has caused us to flourish here at the corner of Pulaski & Broad for the past ~25 years, anyone who has spent any amount of time in our building knows its limitations— we lack adequate and safe nursery space, an inviting entrance, and sufficient gathering areas. Our space is also difficult to navigate and even impossible in some areas for those with limited physical abilities. Visitors are often confused about how to enter the building, where to drop off their kids, and when it rains— all bets are off.

But God has given us this corner of Athens, and we want to steward it and cultivate it well. So, what does it mean to “cultivate the corner?”

It means investing in the mission of the triune God here at Pulaski & Broad. It means continuing to beautify our corner because our God is beautiful. It means making our property more hospitable because our God has welcomed us. It means creating space for our children grow in wisdom and grace. In short, it means doubling-down on what has always been the mission of Redeemer: to continue to bring the historic Christian faith to Downtown Athens.

The Pulaski & Broad Project is our effort to raise funds for the renovation of the Redeemer property. This includes a welcoming entrance and gathering space, expanded and connected Nursery, and major improvements to the accessibility and flow of our property.

The need is great, and we understand the financial ask is large. We will have to be creative. We will have to be generous. We will have to sacrificially give. But— we sit in a building we couldn’t own without God’s providential hand. As we begin this season of fundraising, we pray for His continued blessings on our church and provision for our needs.
