Community Groups

 
 

Community Groups are a door to the life of Redeemer. Through small groups, individuals are able to explore God’s word in the context of genuine care for one another. It is within these small communities that men and women can build personal relationships and practice applying the gospel to their lives. Each group expects to experience Jesus Christ in its midst, enabling participants to be transformed through mutual ministry and to experience life in the family of God.

Groups are limited and meet weekly in homes throughout the Athens area. All groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who receive continued oversight and support from our pastoral staff.

Community groups provide a place not only of discovery but also sanctuary from the pressures and anxieties of life. Because God made us for community, we need others to help us apply the gospel to our lives. Our hope is that everyone who attends our church will be involved in a Community group.

In searching for a Community Group, you may want to pick a group that meets on a night that is best for you, or by a location that is convenient to your home. The phone number of the group’s contact person is listed— once you call, you can get directions to the house where your group meets and any other information you will need regarding that group. If you’d like to switch groups after signing up, please contact Kristin in the office and she will help you with that process.
