RYA will be hosting a pickleball tournament on Saturday, May 30th at the Bishop Park pickleball courts (upper tennis courts). The event starts at 5:00 PM and the picklebattle will start at 6:00 PM! We will provide sandwiches, chips, and Gatorade but bring your own chair and a side to share! The tournament will be mixed doubles (boy + girl), so please inform Isaiah Trotter (478-334-8505) of your team and team name. No partner? No worries! We can assign you one! Just let us know. YOUNG ADULT CEREAL NIGHT
RYA will be hosting a cereal night on Monday, April 20th at Dean and Kelly's house (130 Soule St., Athens, GA) from 6:00-9:00pm. Bring your favorite cereal to share! If you don't like cereal, bring a breakfast-themed side or drink. We will provide all types of milk for the cereal (including non-dairy options). The Timothy Project is a gathering for high school students and young adults who sense a possible calling to vocational ministry. Inspired by Paul’s investment in Timothy, this group aims to be an avenue for encouragement, discernment, and a dialogue about what it means to serve in ministry.
We will meet throughout the year over lunch to explore God’s calling together, hear from experienced ministry leaders, and learn about practical next steps. Each gathering features a different guest speaker who shares insight into different areas of ministry—such as life as a missionary, local church leadership, internships, seminary pathways, and other ministry opportunities.
The Timothy Project is a place to ask questions, seek wisdom, and prayerfully discern where God may be leading. Whether you are confident in your calling or simply curious about ministry, you are welcome to join us.
Our first lunch will be April 12th after worship!
SUSHI NIGHT // RYA will be hosting a sushi night on Monday, March 23, from 7:00-10:00pm at 125 Edwards Circle, Athens GA, 30606. RYA will provide the sushi essentials. RYA will be hosting a gal-n-tines/pal-n-tines event on February 16, from 7:00-10:00pm. Gals will have pasta, wine, and a dessert and will be watching a movie! RYA will be hosting a grilled cheese night on Monday, January 19 from 6:00-9:00pm at Josh and Kayla Garrett's house (213 Colima Ave, Athens GA 30606). This event was such a hit last year, we decided to do it again! RYA will provide cheese and bread, so we encourage you to bring anything you love to add to grilled cheeses to share with others! For example, I always add a bit of jam to mine to give it a charcuterie feel. Feel free to also bring a side or dessert if that is more of your vibe. We will also provide gluten-free bread and dairy-free cheese and will have a gluten free station.

RYA will be hosting a Mediterranean dinner at Rachel Snyder's house on Monday, April 21 from 7:00-10:00. We will be catering food from mediterranean grill but feel free to bring a side, dessert, or drink to share! RYA will be hosting a split event for February! Boys will be at the Garrett's house (213 Colima Ave. Athens, GA) for a grillin and game night. Brats and burgers will be provided but please bring a side or something to throw on the grill! Girls will meet at Rachel and Elizabeth's house (125 Edwards Cir. Athens, GA) for a pink night. We will provide cheese (both dairy and non-dairy), bread (we will have gluten-free options), and a couple of fixings to add! If you have any particular things you love to add to a grilled cheese (like jam or jalapeños) please bring it to share! We will be constructing and cooking them together and we can all share our favorite grilled cheese combo! Be there or be square (like a grilled cheese)!
